Western Iowa Tech Community College, founded in 1966, is a publicly supported comprehensive community college serving the Iowa counties of Cherokee, Crawford, Ida, Monona, Plymouth and Woodbury which have a combined population of about 180,000. The college's main campus is in Sioux City on a 200-acre site. Additional locations include campuses in Denison and Cherokee and learning centers in Le Mars, Mapleton and at Outer Belt Drive in Sioux City. During the past school year, enrollment of students seeking college credits reached 7,570. More than 17,000 students enrolled in non-credit learning experiences.
